The Shuswap River Ambassador Program hires students aged 15 to 29 through grant funding. Ambassadors are trained to go on the river on paddle boards to educated river users, check for hazards, monitor float/paddle times, and to clean the banks/bed of the river. The Ambassadors set up demos at beaches, launch sites, parks, and events to demonstrate water safety and provide information. They also assist with not-for-profits and community events. River Ambassadors are cross trained to work both out in the community and in the Visitor Information Centre.

The program runs from the end of June to the beginning of September. Must be willing to work weekends. Strong swimming skills as asset. For more information or to apply please contact recreation@enderby.ca
